The House of Valentino originated in 1960 and has remained a Hollywood favourite since then. The designer Valentino Garavani, whose style is often described as jet-set chic started with red as the trademark colour for the brand. It was a 1967 collection entirely of white, ivory, and beige clothes—his “no colour” collection—that thrust him into the fashion spotlight and for which he was awarded the Neiman Marcus Award.
Although Valentino announced his retirement in 2007, the brand has still been thriving with its groundbreaking and fantastical designs. Today, Valentino's hallmark is opulence and lady-like silhouettes.
